The picky-eater playbook
How to get a daily chew into a dog or cat who has opinions about everything.

Key takeaways
- Offer it as a treat first, not hidden in the main meal.
- Crumbling over wet food works for most cats and fussy dogs.
- Different flavors exist for a reason — switch before you give up.
Lead with “treat,” not “medicine”
Pets read our body language. Hand the chew over the way you’d give a favorite snack, with a happy voice, not the careful approach you use for a pill. Most dogs never question it again.
The crumble trick
Break the tablet into small pieces and press them into a spoonful of something they love: wet food, plain yogurt or a little of their usual dinner. Serve that spoonful first, then the rest of the meal.
Cats remember. Introduce new things slowly, away from the main bowl.
Cats are their own case
Never hide something new in a cat’s main meal on day one; a cat that finds an odd taste may go off the bowl. Start with crumbs on a separate dish, warm the food slightly to lift the aroma, and keep the same time and place each day.
Try another flavor
Every Plus formula comes in chicken, bacon and beef. If one isn’t landing after a week, switch before deciding the whole idea won’t work.
